I've had a couple of folks who are lep authorities in their own right, who support the Zabulon ID, while of course others are supporting the Peck's ID. I am still waiting to hear from two other folks, also very knowledgeable about leps, so it is not conclusive yet. Stay tuned.....Allen Woodliffehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07730308918843819863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686738124797191445.post-38693548557568171842016-06-11T19:37:46.550-04:002016-06-11T19:37:46.550-04:00Hey Allen, interesting find! But it also looks like Peck's Skipper to me although I can say I'm no expert on Zabulon since I've never seen it!
Peck's can be highly variable. Check this photo out that looks similar to yours. I wonder what features Paul saw that I'm missing? Based on a quick look, I would expect Zabulon to have much more brown on the basal part of the underwing.

http://www.naba.org/chapters/nabanj/images/final/5128_Pecks_Skipper_WW.jpgNathan Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01671833358759112518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686738124797191445.post-58016335199414811422016-06-10T00:05:55.547-04:002016-06-10T00:05:55.547-04:00Definitely a Peck's SkipperDefinitely a Peck's SkipperAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686738124797191445.post-37502103436852297962016-06-09T22:28:57.744-04:002016-06-09T22:28:57.744-04:00Thanks, Dwayne....I did consider Pecks, and I have...Thanks, Dwayne....I did consider Pecks, and I have seen and photographed that one before on several occasions, but the underwing pattern on this one just didn't fit with what I was familiar with or with any of the references I used (ROM guide and Glassberg)Allen Woodliffehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07730308918843819863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686738124797191445.post-51950043743760136282016-06-09T22:18:48.114-04:002016-06-09T22:18:48.114-04:00Allen, did you consider male Pecks Skipper in your...Allen, did you consider male Pecks Skipper in your field marks study?
