The last couple of years with all of the high water has not been kind to the lotus ponds, although it is slightly better this year than last.Allen Woodliffehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07730308918843819863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686738124797191445.post-42748658049134399972022-08-08T18:21:39.155-04:002022-08-08T18:21:39.155-04:00Thanks for the information which was so far the on...Thanks for the information which was so far the only information I found online about Mr. Keith McLean. Last weekend I drove 3 hours to visit the lotus pond. The lotus were many less than what was showed in some photos posted online years ago, which worries me that the pond would eventually die out. I hope the SCRCA can find some lotus experts to bring the pond back to its prosperity as it used to be. It would be a shame if the only lotus pond in Canada left to us by Mr. McLean is gone.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686738124797191445.post-53911696231579864232014-05-03T09:12:29.966-04:002014-05-03T09:12:29.966-04:00Hi Tianna. I will check with my contacts at SCRCA to see if it is the latest version and can be shared.Allen Woodliffehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07730308918843819863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686738124797191445.post-57663195292259205752014-05-03T09:05:24.906-04:002014-05-03T09:05:24.906-04:00Thanks Irene. When the "Welcome' sign went up, I thought it would be a good time to let people know. The day I was there, it was very windy and raining lightly, so I didn't venture too far, but I plan to get out and get some more photos of other parts of the property for a future post. Hope to see you out there some time.Allen Woodliffehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07730308918843819863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686738124797191445.post-31876076761871163642014-05-02T21:46:24.183-04:002014-05-02T21:46:24.183-04:00This is great Allen! One could only dream of leaving such a generous gift to a community as reverting 300 acres back to nature and making it public. Rest in Peace Mr McLean... and thank you for your wonderful gift!dwaynejavahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05639672664684581687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686738124797191445.post-18019479878458740372014-05-01T03:58:37.857-04:002014-05-01T03:58:37.857-04:00Thank you for the informative Blog !The photos hel...Thank you for the informative Blog !The photos help to show off much of
Keith's great work on his property too. I am anxious to roam his property,
and looking forward to "Hawk-watching" there this Fall ! We have lost so many
birding Hotspots in Chatham-Kent in the past 20 years, it is wonderful to
add a new Nature Spot to our list. The new sign in front should be a great
surprise to our May birders !Irenenoreply@blogger.com
